Nintendo Power’s final cover is both awesome and kind of sad
So the newest issue of Nintendo Power will be the last… the end of an era. But with the final cover, and the timing of the release of New Super Mario Bros 2 for the Wii U, they were able to create something that’s wonderfully nostalgic and perfect for the final issue. RIP Nintendo Power.
Nintendo has milked the hell out of the Pokemon franchise, but it doesn’t look like they’ll ever make a Pokemon MMO, so some die-hard Pokefans decided to take the project upon themselves, using Pokemon Red as a template.

For decades, some have been spouting that violent video games create violent children, who turn into violent adults, regardless of dozens of studies that show there is no correlation between violent video games and real life violence. Now a new study seems to suggest that it’s the opposite— playing video games promotes cooperation, not aggression.
In the early 1980s, before Nintendo became a household word around the world, there were two major players in the brand new realm of home computer video games— Commodore and Atari. And Jack Tramiel was essential for both. The tech pioneer, the founder of Commodore and former owner of Atari died yesterday at the age of 83, but hopefully his impact on the evolution of video games will never be forgotten.
